I want to record every day, every day is miraculous. I don't see things as mundane. It is a profound thing to write a shopping list. (KeithTyson in conversation with Karen Wright)
Lost in the Labyrinth of Memory is a unique work in KeithTyson’s eclectic autobiographical oeuvre.Tyson casts his wife as the starring role in a fantasized production about his life. The film poster, a monumental painted aluminum panel, rests atop a series ofTyson’s diaries which are filled with his memories and recollections of his childhood, adolescence and young adult life. Some of the statements have spilled from the pages of the journals onto the painted surface. Predating his famed Geno Pheno and Nature series, KeithTyson’s Lost in the Labyrinth of Memory from 2003 poignantly examines the recurring themes of Tyson’s artistic endeavor.
